How We Work on Kitchen

The commissioning of a bespoke kitchen is about creating a product that fits perfectly with your lifestyle. Whether you come to us with a resolved design or only a very general idea of what you wish to achieve, we will work with you to define a clear brief for the design of your kitchen.

Consultation

We offer our expertise through a consultative process that is based on addressing your specific requirements. At an initial consultation we will very often discuss the layout and functionality of the space, look at samples of veneers, wood timbers, metal finishes or stone and recommend the most appropriate appliances for your needs. We are also able to offer advice on other aspects of your project such as lighting schemes and flooring choices. Following consultation and agreement on the overall design  concept in terms of layout, materials and finishing, we will then issue a detailed quote giving a clear outline of the total project cost.

Design Development

Once your kitchen is confirmed and a broad schedule mapped out, our studio team will work towards developing the design concept into a more fully resolved design. This development process is about addressing the realities of the space and problem solving practical issues while ensuring the design continues to meet your aesthectic requirements. It is at this stage that we may want to measure items such as crockery, knives and cutlery to ensure they fit perfectly into your new kitchen.

Shop Drawings & Design Approval

With the project well underway, our design team will undertake a final site survey and liaise with any contractors (electricians, plumbers or builders), providing service drawings where required. Towards the end of the design process we will also have produced full technical drawings and 3D visual renders along with accompanying notes giving detailed written specifications. Upon sign-off and approval of the final drawings we will formally brief and handover to our workshop team to begin manufacture.

Manufacture and Dry Fit

Working with fully signed-off shop drawings our workshop team will start manufacturing your kitchen. A key part of our production process is the dry-fitting stage where we will fully assemble all the components of the project in our workshop along with any appliances fitted in-situ. We will then quality check the project for fidelity to the design and go through a rigorous snagging process before disassembly and finishing in readiness for installation. While we manufacture and finish the majority of our kitchens in-house some specialist components are outsourced to our stable of preferred sub-contractors, these often include specialist stonework and metalwork.

Installation

“The installation team were not only charming, but also clearly focused on achieving a beautiful end product.”

Discretion is fundamental to our service and our highly professional site fitters work to an installation schedule that ensures as little disruption as possible whether we are in your home or working alongside other construction professionals. Once the kitchen is fully installed, one of our directors (Edd or Jack), will personally snag the project; we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality work and consider this to be an essential part of our client handover process.

Maintenance & Aftercare

“The project had a completely holistic approach from beginning to end, with the aftercare service being just as imperative as the main bulk of the project”

Once your project has been signed-off we will provide a care and maintenance pack with all the information you need to look after your kitchen. We also promise to follow up with an aftercare visit between four to six months after installation to check that everything is just as it should be.
